Grant Applications to groups and individuals in Humshaugh and the surrounding area
Humshaugh Community Ventures Ltd. (HCVL) is the organisation set up
in Humshaugh to purchase and manage the village shop for the
community. The company is run by a Board of Directors elected at the
annual general meeting and the shop is staffed entirely by volunteers. All
profits are dedicated to supporting and enhancing the lives of individuals
and the community.
As a result there is a fund to assist groups, organisations and individual
residents of Humshaugh and surrounding area to undertake projects that
in the opinion of the Board, are deemed of benefit to the community or
the individual.
There are three versions of the application form
● For groups/organisations – for projects that benefit the village HCVL App-form-for-groups
● For individuals – to support a special project or learning experience HCVL App-Form-for-individuals
● Hardship Fund – to provide financial support for local residents finding it hard to make ends meet. Hardship Fund
These applications will be treated in confidence by the board.

Previous awards have ranged from £100 to over £1000, here are some
examples:
● The Village Hall for furniture and windows
● The Playing Field Trust
● The Pre-school and After School groups
● North Tyne and Redewater Choral Society
● A number of young people in the village have been given money
towards the costs of books, laptops, field trips, and equipment for
apprenticeships such as construction, catering and hair, beauty
and makeup.
