Happy 9th birthday to Humshaugh Village Shop. It was November 1st 2009 when the shop was first run by a team of volunteers. It had been threatened with closure after the Post Office decided to close the branch in the village. Read the full story here.
You’ll be able to see a film of how the shop was saved if you come along to this year’s AGM of Humshaugh Community Ventures Ltd. That’s the community organisation which runs the shop and which in turn supports projects in the village. We’re always looking for new volunteers to help in whatever way they can. If you’re new to the village, this will be an ideal opportunity to find out what we do. The meeting is at Humshaugh Village Hall on Friday November 23rd at 7.30pm. It’s usually relatively short and it’ll be followed by refreshments and a chance to talk to directors and the lovely team of volunteers. We look forward to seeing new and familiar faces.
