During the heavy snow and plunging temperatures in December and January Humshaugh Village Shop certainly came into its own. While many people couldn’t make it out of the village on four wheels plenty made it to the shop on two wellies, skis or toboggans.
Some of the deliveries were even made by sledge as the main street became too slippery for most drivers. Even the volunteer staff resorted to skis when the going got tough.
