Monthly Archives: September 2017
It’s that time of year already. We have two weekends of apple pressing this year – September 30th and October 1st and then two weeks later on October 14th and 15th. Your donated apples will be washed, chopped, squeezed, bottled and sterilised to make juice for sale in your own village shop. Our team of volunteers will be around the back of Humshaugh Village Hall from 10.00am until 3.00pm to receive your boxes, bags or barrels of apples. You’re welcome to join us to help with the processing too.
The bottles of juice will later go on sale in the shop. Last year’s vintage even graced the tables of Walwick Hall Hotel. Apart from tasting great, they also make an ideal ingredient for a seasonal gift hamper. We look forward to seeing you and we hope you’ll be able to help in one way or another – or even both.
