From Friday 24 July, customers must wear a face covering when coming into the shop. Current government guidance says: “Under the new rules, people who do not wear a face covering will face a fine of up to £100, in line with the sanction on public transport and just as with public transport, children under 11 and those with certain disabilities will be exempt.”

That ideal combination – big on flavour, low on food miles. Great with that tasty, homemade, fresh bread you’ve all been baking during lockdown!
Just 3 days after we introduced this new line, the shelf was empty! We should be able to source more within 10 days or so, so keep your eyes open. If you did buy some and liked it, let us know if you’d buy it again.
Get in touch with your inner Gromit, and hare along to Humshaugh Village Shop to try out their new line: organic cheese, hand-crafted from the milk of the pedigree Ayrshire cows at Slack House organic farm just over the border in Cumbria, where all that rain helps to produce such sweet grass for grazing. And do tell us if you like it!
Those wily Humshaugh costermongers have sourced a good supply of flour for all you bakers out there. But, if it takes you longer to get here than to bake a sourdough loaf (10 mins at 210C, then 20 mins at 190C), best not travel!
Those nice people at the First & Last Brewery in Elsdon are delivering free to the NE46 postcode area. Check out their website shop for some lipsmackin’ deals! https://firstandlastbrewery.co.uk/
